This spring tea of the Yabukita cultivar is produced by Mr. Nishi in Makizono, Kagoshima, Japan. This cultivar is well-suited for producing balanced Sencha, with both a round umami and a refreshing vegetal flavor. The leaves were covered 10 days before harvest, allowing them to develop a mellower flavor compared to traditional Japanese Sencha. The leaves have a very beautiful, thin, needle shape and a dark, glossy green color. This Sencha offers a deep, savory flavor with sweet and mellow notes at lower temperatures, developing a subtle astringency at higher temperatures. You can infuse the same leaves up to 3 times (within 24 hours)!
