Café Rivense del Chirripó is a family-run micromill founded in 2005 in the Chirripó micro-region of southern Costa Rica. Situated between two major mountains at 1,300–2,000+ m.a.s.l., it benefits from a unique microclimate and rich soils. The farm has gained international recognition, including 5th place in the 2019 Cup of Excellence with its Caturra Honey microlot. Focused on sustainability, the farm uses shade trees, organic matter, targeted herbicide application, and water source protection. Coffee is handpicked at peak ripeness, pulped dry without water, dried on raised beds and static dryers, then milled and exported directly to ensure full traceability. Chirripó’s rising reputation in specialty coffee is driving growth in coffee cultivation and varietal diversity in the region.
