Gisanga coffee is grown in mbuye sector, ruhango district in the southern province of Rwanda. This area lies at an altitude ranging between 1,650–1,850 m a.S.L. On the high mountains of the congo-nile divide. This area constitutes ONE of the best elements of the central plateau of the country with rainfall of between 1,100–1,300 mm and an annual average temperature of 18°c–20°c, thus being considered ONE of the most suitable regions to grow the major food crops in Rwanda.
