Coffee from kathakwa washing station on mt kenya’s slopes in embu county. Established in 1964, it serves about 1,100 small farmers growing sl28, sl34, batian, and ruiru 11 varieties on fertile volcanic soils. Located at 1,550–1,700 meters above sea level, it produces complex, high-quality coffee. Rockbern coffee was founded in 2012 by peter muchiri syomwenzwa and his wife bernice, inspired by peter’s family coffee heritage. The brand name “rockbern” symbolizes balance and unity.
